Dr. Sara Runge is a rare find in the field of vascular surgery in that only 8% of vascular surgeons are women according to a 2010 study by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
Dr. Runge received her undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College with summa cum laude distinction. After earning her doctorate of medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School, she completed her general surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Runge then obtained her vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Florida and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in vascular surgery and general surgery.
